Xinjiang Province: The Junggar Basin project

This is Central Point Energy latest project. The license covers an area of 9630 hectares, and holds proved plus probable (“2P”) reserves of 56,8 million barrels of oil equivalent (“mmboe”) and about than 27 billions of cubic meters of gas. This will be an important project for Central Point Energy´s future, and a key factor to attain the company´s output target of 140,000 boe/d for 2019.

These are some of the tasks currently engaged at the site:

  • Geophysical exploration – seismic, gravimetric, electromagnetic and geo-electric research methods.
  • Drilling, workover and equipping of oil and gas wells – drilling of oil wells, workover and equipping.
  • Special operations and measuring for oil, gas and water on wells – special operations (slickline tools, flexible tubing, nitrogen units), well logging and hydrodynamic measurements, cementing, stimulations and testing.
  • Maintenance and overhaul of facilities and equipment, construction of pipelines, installations and oil and gas technological systems.Transportation of equipment and personnel.

    The Xinjiang Province located in Northwestern China , is one the country´s largest oil and gas producer, with 28% of the national proved reserves of oil and 33% of natural gas reserves.

    The oil and gas extraction industry in Xinjiang West-East pipeline connecting to Shanghai. The oil and petrochemical sector account for 60% of Xinjiang's local economy.
